Clinical Services

Clinical psychology is the integration of science, theory, and clinical knowledge to address a broad range of psychopathology. Dr. Landry focuses her clinical work on diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Clinical assessment includes interviews, reviews of treatment or intervention history, and testing to help identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses. The goal of assessments is to identify the presence or absence of diagnostic concerns that may benefit from service interventions. Dr. Landry’s focus is to help her clinical clients better understand themselves and utilize the information to improve their functioning, whether related to psychological, emotional, behavioral, or neurodevelopmental concerns. Unlike forensic services, clinical services are a confidential process and the decision on how to use the information obtained rests with the client.

Psychological Evaluations

In addition to her forensic work, Dr. Landry accepts referrals for clinical evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults. These evaluations are usually referred by other mental health professionals who need a comprehensive profile of their clients’ psychological and personality functioning in order to assist with therapeutic interventions. These evaluations often involve multiple interviews of the referred individual, as well as interviews of parents or significant others to gather history of the presenting issue. Dr. Landry then utilizes psychological testing to provide objective data regarding the individual’s functioning.

Learning and Neurodevelopmental Evaluations

Dr. Landry also accepts referrals for children and adolescents struggling academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. Often these referrals come from parents who have concerns for their child’s functioning in the school environment but feel that their school district has not properly addressed their concerns. In this capacity, Dr. Landry completes a comprehensive evaluation typically including cognitive/IQ testing, achievement testing, psychological testing, and neuropsychological testing. Through this comprehensive testing, consultation with the parents, teachers, and other involved professionals, Dr. Landry provides an extensive written report summarizing the child’s strengths, weaknesses, diagnostic concerns, and other areas of needs to assist with service planning.
